Otello DVD/Blu-ray released

The DVD/Blu-ray of the Salzburg Osterfestspiele production of Otello, with Benjamin Bernheim singing the role of Cassio, has just been released by Unitel. Hailed as a “revelation” in this role by Diapason, and as having a “bright, voluminous and extensive voice,” by Opera Online, this is Mr. Bernheim’s third time singing the role, having previously performed it at the Opéra National de Bordeaux, and Opernhaus Zürich. Mr. Bernheim is joined by José Cura in the title role, Dorothea Röschmann as Desdemona, Carlos Alvarez as Iago, and Christa Mayer as Emilia.
